I commonly work with clients who have experienced attachment wounding, trauma, and anxiety and those who want to release outdated coping patterns. I also work with clients experiencing difficult life transitions, such as relationship concerns, health challenges, divorce, grief, and loss. Additionally, I work with highly attuned, highly sensitive people (HSPs) and all neurotypes wanting to feel more calm and grounded.
This varies considerably and depends on many factors, including individual response, complexity of symptoms, and personal goals. On average, I see clients for three months and sometimes over a year. For momentum sessions are weekly; although clients are encouraged to decide what is best for them and follow the pace and duration that works for them.
My fee is $250 for a one-hour session. Please give 24-hour notice of cancellation to avoid being charged for the reserved time.
Brainspotting Therapy is a mind-body therapy discovered by David Grand, PhD, in 2003 that focuses on identifying, processing, and repairing emotional stress, trauma, and other challenging symptoms. By utilizing points in your visual field, brainspotting accesses deeply held experiences, which are then safely processed and desensitized. This results in a re-balancing of the nervous system. Brainspotting Therapy combines focused mindfulness, relational attunement, and brain-based processing.
I help you identify an issue you want to work on. We look for the corresponding feelings in your body. From there, we find the Brainspot, a point in your visual field. Brainspots are considered neural networks of memory related to the issue you have chosen to work on. From there, you notice what comes up and process the thoughts, feelings, and emotions associated with the brainspot. Sessions are one hour. Bilateral music is often used to help deepen the subcortical processing and provide attentional flexibility. It’s common for your brain and body to continue processing the session for several days following a session.
Brainspotting is a powerful and effective therapy. Several studies demonstrate the efficacy of Brainspotting Therapy for treating stress, anxiety, trauma, and other issues. Victims and their families identified it as the most helpful and effective therapy for relieving anxiety, stress, and trauma following the Sandy Hook School shooting. Further studies are needed to have it listed on the national registry for evidence-based practices.
